Who Is Jake Corvus?
Jake Corvus is a queer author living and creating on Kabi Kabi lands. He has five novels published with Harlequin and HarperCollins under a pseudonym. He loves horror, sci-fi and fantasy–particularly queer and inclusive fiction. He is passionate about the Australian queer creative community, and has judged the Aurealis and Norma K Hemming Awards, and presented seminars and panels at Genrecon and RWA. He was the first recipient of the Flinthart Residency and is a 2023 recipient of The Next Chapter fellowship.

Cars roam the wilderness in herds, hunted by motorbikes and planes. Houses rot to reveal skeletal remains. The new generation of mankind has forgotten domestication. Bee has no children, and therefore no authority in the tribe. It is her job to kill cars and keep the teenagers under her care alive. When the hunt goes horribly wrong, how does one woman, with no power, keep the next generation safe?

Car-sized fruit grows from roots that slither out of the NYC sewer, blocking traffic and luring out hoards of sickened rats. It's all in a day's work for Key Ryans, but things get dramatically out of hand when a Wasp shows up, spreading insanity and devastation in its wake. In a split second decision, Key shoots a civilian to spare him the agony of being eaten alive, but the resulting PR nightmare costs her her job. To make matters worse, the Wasp is still on the loose and the insanity is spreading.
